Dutch lancer regiment nr 10 1/32 scale

It took a  long time before this one was finished, but now it's done and ready.
The regiment played an important role during the Belgian-Dutch was in 1830. In those days it was kind of "flashy"to have a lancer regiment. Whether they were useful or not.
The regiment was also called the Green lancers ( groene lanciers) because of the uniform

I started with an idea of one of the "Sid Horton"horses in an old issue of Airfix Magazine ( the 70-ies!)
Parts I used are from Airfix Collectors series. The horse is made of the front part of the Scots greys horse and the back half of the polish lancer's horse. I altered the neck by cutting, putting a piece of plastic into the neck  and some Miliput between the head and the torso underneath the neck.

Saddle is from the Polish Lancer. I sanded down all of the detail to get a "clean "saddle.
Horse is painted in several layers of colours. First layer is Humbrol. This way you get a good grip for the acrylic paint.

The figure is mainly the Polish lancer. The legs are from the British Hussar ( I think), It took a lot of pre-fitting and sanding before the figure had the correct position

Painting and detailing the figure was sometimes quite confusing. There are a lot of paintings and pictures of the regiment, but each one differs from the other.

The  green colour is Humbrol Uniform Green, Rest is done in Citadel and Valejo acrylics.
The lance is made of iron rod.Flag is made of lead-foil.
Reins are also made of lead-foil.
